Thanksgiving in Memphis

We decided to spend a few days in Memphis for Thanksgiving this year. It had been 2 years since we have made it over there so we were all very excited to see everyone. Grandma Maggie and Great Aunts Jodie and Kathy spoiled the boys like always! They took us all to the Memphis Zoo and to the Pink Palace (that isn't pink according to the boys) to see the Festival of Trees and a Christmas village display. It was a beautiful day for the zoo. Our favorites were the sea lions, pandas, giraffes and polar bears.
Kathy recently got married to Norris so the boys had a new football player for the team! Nathan wasn't feeling well that day so Norris had to take them on himself. The boys are ready for a rematch!
Jodie and I went out shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We got some great deals and had a great time!
We had a great visit and can't wait to go back!

Update

Sorry it's been a while...I'll post some of November's highlights!

Jared and Joshua's classes dressed up like pilgrims and indians and got to have a Thanksgiving meal at school.

Lowe's Project Day--Twice a month Lowe's puts on a little workshop for the kids to make a project. They have a lot of fun with this. This week they made a football goal to play paper football. They also get a patch for their apron for each project they complete. The boys were excited because mom finally got all of the patches ironed on!

Jared decided to wear his tie to church one Sunday--isn't he handsome!

This is Jared's friend Ethan. He has a lot of fun with him! He's the one that dressed up like Mario with him for Halloween.

Grandparents Day--The boys' school holds a Grandparents Day every year. The boys have a lot of fun with it and Grandma gets to stay with us for a couple of days so she can make it to all of their days. Grandma was very busy with all three of them. Elvis was even there!

Fun Halloween

We all had a great time on Halloween. Nathan and I carved pumpkins with
Javan and Joshua Friday morning. Then Nathan was off for the day so we
got to hang out for a few hours before doing the "pumpkin parade" with
the boys to see everyone's jack-o-lanterns. I did not know until I got
to school Friday morning that Jared and his friend Ethan had planned for
Ethan to dress up with Jared. They had planned for Ethan to be Luigi
but his mom said they didn't have a green shirt and hat. I thought it
was so cute they planned that without telling us.
The boys had lots of fun trick-or-treating! Aren't the dogs cute? We
went to the Fayetteville square and they have a pet costume contest and
I thought these dogs were too funny!
We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

Halloween #1

This morning Nathan got to go carve a pumpkin with Jared at school. I had to leave early so I didn't get a picture of the finished product. The other two will carve theirs on Friday then they will do a Pumpkin parade through the gym to see everyone's jack-o-lanterns lit up.
The church where the boys go to Awanas had a Fall Festival tonight. The
boys had a great time and got lots of candy!
Before the carnival, we had a jack-o-lantern pizza.

Branson cont'd

Branson

We made a quick trip to Branson last weekend. The boys had so much fun
riding everything--not so much fun posing for pictures with all of the
pumpkins, scarecrows, etc. We discovered that Jared and Josh are big
enough to ride Powder Keg--the 2nd biggest roller coaster there. They
loved it! The picture with the dog is the "mascot" from the Fire in the
Hole ride--Joshua's favorite ride! I love how the picture on the pirate
ship, the people next to the boys look like they're freaking out and the
boys are smiling for the camera at the highest point in the ride! Javan
is in the very back of the boat on that one! The only reason the others
aren't is they are too little to ride in the back rows. They aren't
scared of anything. They only reason they aren't riding Wildfire, the
roller coaster that goes upside down is because they're too short.
Trust me, they measured several times! They are convinced if they eat
really good they'll be able to ride it next summer!
Baseball is over and soccer will be over after the games this morning.
Nathan has a couple of weeks of football officiating left so things have
slowed down considerably for us! We are definitely enjoying the cool
weather. We roasted hot dogs and had Smores last night on the fire pit.

Crazy boys!!!

Here are a couple of crazy pictures from our trip last weekend to
Branson. Great Aunt Kathy, take a wild guess which one is just for you!!
