Past Couple of Weeks

OK--I didn't promise I'd be great at posting on this but at least it's better than what you've been getting lately from us! For all of you who thought you'd been taken off of our Christmas card list this year, it wasn't just you. Just another one of those things that didn't get done! So...you can consider this a belated Christmas card picture!!!

Over Spring Break, we spent a couple of days in Branson. The boys had so much fun at Silver Dollar City. They are looking forward to going back again! The one picture is Javan in the Giant Barn Swing...he wasn't too crazy about that one! The faster the better for Jared--unfortunately he's still too small for some of the ones he would love to do. He did get to do his first regular roller coaster--Thunderation--and he loved it and rode it several times--even rode it backward! Joshua's favorite was Fire in the Hole!
Easter/David's Birthday
Saturday we went to mom's and celebrated my great nephew David's 1st Birthday and the kids got to do a little egg hunting!
And by the way, do any of you remember a couple of years ago when my brother Doug got his truck stuck in the lake at Mark's?? Well, he managed to get Mark's tractor stuck in one of the ditches at mom's that day while the guys were cleaning up some fallen trees. Way to go Doug--wouldn't be a family get together without you doing something crazy!

The boys are going to be in my niece Lana's wedding in October--here's a preview of Jared & Joshua in their tuxes!!!

Jumprope for Heart--Javan & Joshua did Jump Rope for Heart in PE this year. They raised enough money to get new jumpropes, shirts a water bottle and some cool magnets. They both won the jump roping competition in each of their classes. While they were practicing at home, Jared was very determined to learn. He practiced A LOT and got pretty good at it. He'll be ready for next year's competition! Here's my first attempt at uploading a video on here, hope it works!

Snowing again!!!

Well, we're set to get a few more inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. Javan was disappointed because he was supposed to have his first baseball practice tonight. Maybe we'll get enough to make a snowman this time!
I'm going to try to backtrack a little since it's been so long since I've sent out any pictures. I'll post a few pictures from the past few months.

The boys had "Dr. Seuss" day at school last week. We started the morning with Green Eggs & Ham. I made Cat in the Hat cupcakes for Javan & Joshua's classes. Hopefully they're recognizable as the Cat's hat! The boys liked them so that's all that mattered!

For the past few years, we have had a candlelight Valentine's Dinner. The boys have really looked forward to it each year. Here's a picture of this year's dinner including the beautiful flowers Nathan and the boys got me for Valentine's Day. This year's menu was heart shaped grilled chicken with pink fettucine alfredo, heart shaped breadsticks and heart jello jigglers. And yes, that is grape juice! Dessert was a black forest trifle.

OK, I need to get to work on supper for tonight--I'll try to get some pictures from Upward Basketball, Javan's birthday and Christmas soon.

First Blog!!!

I thought I would get with the times and create a Blog for our family. I am actually hoping that it will help me get better than I have been lately about posting pictures and keeping everyone up to date on what's going on with us.
We had a couple of inches of snow fall last night so that meant the boys were out of school. We enjoyed a lazy day at home. We played in the snow this morning (Joshua chose to stay inside in his jammies), worked puzzles, played the Wii and enjoyed the sunshine this afternoon.
Druper--the newest addition to our family enjoyed the snow a lot. He is a 3 month old beagle puppy that we've had for a couple of weeks now. The boys have had a lot of fun with him. The cats aren't so crazy about him, but he thinks they are real fun to play with! The older dogs tolerate him and his puppy energy. He's a real sweetie and loves to snuggle.
Nathan and I are planning an anniversary getaway in May. We are looking into Cancun/Cozumel/Playa del Carmen area. If anyone has any experience/suggestions, send them our way! There are a lot of places to choose from!!!
