Finished Pool

With the exception of a few touch up things and landscaping, the pool is
now completed. It looks like we'll have a couple more days in the 80's
before it gets completely too cold to swim anymore! Thankfully the boys
got a few weeks of swimming in this year and we'll all be ready to go
for next summer!!!

Soccer

Here are a couple of pictures from soccer today. They all did really well and scored a few goals.
Jared scored his first goal of the season and followed it up with 4 total in one six minute period. I don't know what got into him but he got really aggressive for a while. I didn't get any of Javan in action today but I'll get him next time.

Way to go boys!!!

At the start of school, Javan was chosen out of his class to be the
Student Ambassador for the first 9 weeks. His main duty is helping to
raise the flags with the other 2 ambassadors in the morning and taking
them down in the afternoon. They also help with other things as needed
around the school.
Joshua & Jared were both chosen last week out of their classes as
Students of the Month. They were so excited when they came home with
their shirts on. Jared said "notice anything different about us!"
Way to go boys, mom & dad are very proud of you and how well you are doing in
school!

Gentry Zoo and one more jump

Friday the boys were out of school for Parent/Teacher conferences.
Mom went with the boys and I to the Gentry drive through zoo.
I didn't get many pictures but the boys had a really good time and the weather was great.
We all thought the kangaroos with the joeys in their pouches were really neat.
The cages the boys are looking at have 3 baby monkeys...the boys had lots of fun
watching them swing around.

Handsome boys and other stuff

The boys are going to be in my niece's wedding in a couple of weeks. We
tried on the tuxes tonight to make sure everything fits good.

This picture is of the boys with Junya. He was our neighbor's Japanese

foreign exchange student they housed for 3 weeks. The boys had a lot of
fun playing with him and it was so fun to listen to them communicating.
Lets just say video games and sports must have a universal language!
They played the Wii and lots of basketball, baseball, soccer and
football. All of the boys favorites!

Even though the water in the pool is about 68 degrees right now, the
boys have still been going swimming. Here are a few pictures of their
jumps off of the diving board.

Missing dolphin alert, pool & sickness

One of the things I was most excited about on the pool was we decided to
get a dolphin mosaic put in it. I love dolphins and thought it would be
fun and something unique for the pool. We got a call Saturday morning
at 7:00 in the morning from the pool builder saying they had lost my
dolphin. He had been looking everywhere for it even driving up and down
the highway seeing if it had fallen off of the trailer between here and
Bentonville. Since I had a yard full of guys ready to start plastering
the pool, it meant we weren't going to get the dolphin. I wasn't happy
but it was either that or wait another week to plaster and we already
had enough delays. While I was on the phone with him, he got a call
from his partner saying they had found the dolphin! I was very excited
and the builder was very relieved!
They finished plastering on Saturday and we got to start filling the
pool on Sunday afternoon. Some of my family came up for the holiday
weekend and the kids got to swim some while it was filling. They got to
swim while it was full on Monday but I didn't manage to get any pictures
of that.
It rained Tues, Wed & Thurs from the hurricane and hasn't warmed up much
since then but the boys have been enjoying it anyway! There's still
lots of clean up and work to be done on it but at least it's swimable
now! Hopefully they'll finish everything up this week.
All but Nathan (including a lot of my family that was here) managed to
get a stomach bug last week. Not fun at all. The boys missed 2 days of
school and I couldn't go back to work until Friday. Jared got it again
Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we're past that and can have a full week
of school and work this week.
